| I greatly enjoyed your site, I used a slide rule in high school to multiply and divide, never had to learn to use other scales. Used my summer earnings, all of it, to buy an HP35, as college freshman. It was my secret weapon, as even the profs. did not have one and did not realize how powerful it was. I squeaked through a few basic physics and engineering classes, saw the light and switched majors to biology, and never had to do difficult calculation again. Still your site brought back a lot of memories. I also remember Fortran, punched cards, up all night at computer center when batch processing was cheap, and amazement at how "small" a PDP8 was when they first came out.

|Dave, This is a very impressive accomplishment. I have long been collecting and keeping a tally of long scale slide rules. I look forward to adding yours to my list, and making a working model. Also I commend you on differentiating between precision and accuracy.
As a civil engineer I am flummoxed by these words being used interchangeably.
Just like "dirt" for "soil" and "cement" for "concrete", our English language gets muddled. Keep up the good work, Ed chamberlain
